We have taken some time to debrief individually and as a team about our summer. We are putting into place some big plans to achieve excellence in all aspects of our boat handling this winter. We know this refinement will give us a huge set of tools on the short, fast paced race course.
September has some FX training in San Francisco (yeehaw!) as well as the Melges 20 World Championship for Steph and the World Match Racing Tour event in Chicago for Maggie (Team Magenta 32). It’s good to do some other racing and gain some more perspective. In October we will meet back in San Francisco for more training with Giulia Conti (49erFX European Champion) and then head to Enoshima, Japan for a week of racing in THE OLYMPIC VENUE!!!
November, December and January we will be working our tails off in Miami to refine our boat handling and trimming techniques as well as develop equipment. We will also be focusing on fitness, diets and gaining weight as a team. We are excited to set up camp in one spot so we can eliminate travel, setting up boats, etc and just work hard to learn and achieve. We want to dial in the details and bring our speed and boat handling up to the standard in the fleet.
